How we rate casinos
Every casino on this site gets the same weighted score across six categories. The score is public, the weights are public, and the reasoning for each sub-score is in the individual review.
The six categories
- Bonus (25%). Welcome offer size relative to wagering requirements, not just headline amount.
- Variety (20%). Full Hacksaw catalogue coverage plus other studios. Every operator on our list carries the full Hacksaw shelf, so the delta here comes from adjacent studios.
- Payment (15%). Deposit methods, fees, withdrawal speed, and KYC friction.
- Platform (15%). Mobile experience, site speed, search, and filter quality.
- Support (10%). Live chat responsiveness and quality of answers during our tests.
- Safety (15%). Licence quality, dispute history, and player protection features.
Scoring method
Each sub-category is scored from 1 to 5. We compute a weighted average, round to one decimal, and publish. We also publish the test log for every review, including the dates, devices, deposit and withdrawal times, and any issues we hit.
When scores change
We re-test each casino at least once per year, or sooner if a material event happens (a licence issue, a change in ownership, a widely reported payment delay). Scores can move up or down. The change history is not currently public, but we will note the most recent test date at the top of every review.
